Audio & image import requirements
Plotagon Studio allows you to import your own dialogue as well as custom background music and sound effects into a script. Plotagon Studio can import WAV, AIF, AIFF, AAC, MP3 and M4A audio files with a sample rate below 44.100 kHz.
Selected scenes allow you to import a still image as either a background illustration or a visual element on a video screen, white board, etc. Choose either a JPG or PNG image for this purpose. Nearly all of these scenes work best with a 16×9 format image, though in certain cases some cropping may occur.
If you wish to put a video behind your character, then choose either the Green Screen or Green Room scene in the Scene Chooser. Learn more about importing images.
By importing any audio or image content you agree that you own the copyright to the content or that you have obtained any necessary releases or permissions.
Plotagon offers several export options:
Plotagon Studio exports video in the MP4 format. When you export your video, you may choose 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K resolution. The speed of the video export will depend on your computer’s processing power, the length of the video and the video export resolution. A 4K video, for example, may take twice as long to render as a 1080p video.
The video export function also gives you the option to export subtitles in a separate .SRT file. Learn more about subtitles and captions.
To export your script as a PDF, click the three dots below the plot in the plot gallery screen, and then select “Export pdf”.
When you click the “Export Plot” button, it will save your script as a .PLOT file that includes any characters that appear in the script as well as any dialogue voice recordings. It does not include any background images, music or sound effects (for copyright reasons).
